A quick overview of the GED process
Students living within the Fairbanks North Star Borough
- Complete GED orientation and registration with Adult Learning Programs of Alaska.
Note: Students that are under 18 must have parental permission and withdrawal form from last Alaskan school attended before receiving services (not including Orientation)
- Take a TABE assessment to determine current skills' levels in reading and math.
- Meet individually with a staff member to create a plan for success.
- Attend classes or workshops, study online, tutoring, or complete individual study (if needed).
- Fulfill Math and English requirements.
- Take the Official Practice Tests (if needed).
- Complete GED testing paperwork and register for testing with LRC staff.
- Complete successfully the five parts of the GED test…and receive a GED diploma!
